Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Garlic Mashed Potatoes:

5 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
water to cover potatoes
8-10 cloves garlic
1/4 lb butter, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2-1 cup half and half
kosher salt and white pepper to taste

Place potatoes and garlic in pot and cover with water.

Boil until potatoes are fork tender and drain into a colander.

Place in mixing bowl with remaining ingredients and use your favorite device to mash potatoes.

Season to taste with salt and white pepper.

Serve with country gravy.  (See gravy recipe under ‘Gravy’ on this site).
