If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves. –Thomas A. Edison
My grandma used to have this exact same cookie jar on her counter when I was little girl. She used to keep Lehi Orange Soda and Nephi Grape Soda out in her garage in her extra refrigerator and when we would come over to visit, we’d get a soda and a cookie. This recipe is from the dear little old lady we used to live next door to who would make these cookies for you kids.
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (she said to omit the salt)
- 3 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine ingredients and spoon cookie dough on cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.
