I got this recipe from my friend Lauren. This is the only sugar cookie recipe I have posted that calls for cream of tartar. That must be the secret ingredient as to why these taste so good.
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
Mix butter and powdered sugar. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract. Add in pre-mixed flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 minutes.
