This recipe is from your dad’s Aunt Amelia Smith McConkie.
- 5 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 quarts water
- 1 quart whipping cream
- 2 quarts milk
- Juice of 6 oranges
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 1 16-oz can crushed pineapple and juice
- 3 or 4 bananas, mashed
Combine sugar, salt, cornstarch, and water. Cook till clear, then cool. Add whipping cream and milk. Add orange juice and lemon juice, crushed pineapple, and mashed bananas. Pour into 8-quart ice-cream freezer and freeze. Cut recipe in half to make 4 quarts.
